The recycling process
Dismantling: -
The process starts with separating the aluminum frame and electrical components like the junction box and cables. 
Separation:-
 Specialized machinery is used to separate the glass from the solar cells. 
Material recovery: -
The solar cells are ground up or processed to recover valuable materials, including silicon and metals like silver, tin, and gallium. 
Material processing: -
The recovered materials are then purified and sent to other supply chains for reuse. 
Challenges and limitations
Cost: -
The current cost of recycling a solar panel is often higher than landfilling it, making it a money-losing prospect without subsidies or new technology. 
Complexity: -
Separating the materials, especially the silicon cells from the glass, can be difficult and requires specialized equipment. 
Low value materials: -
While the aluminum and glass have recycling value, the smaller amounts of other precious metals often do not offset the cost of their extraction alone.

What you can do
Do not attempt to recycle at home:-
 Due to the presence of hazardous materials, solar panels should only be recycled through professional, industrial processes. 
Find a certified recycler: -
Contact your solar panel installer or a specialized electronics recycling company to find a certified recycling facility that can handle them safely and properly.
