India’s green hydrogen roadmap is anchored by the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), which aims to establish the country as a global hub for the production, usage, and export of green hydrogen. 

Key targets and initiatives include:
Production Targets: -
Achieving an annual production capacity of at least 5 million metric tonnes (MMT) by 2030, supported by 125 GW of associated renewable energy capacity. 
Financial Outlay:-
 The program is backed by a ₹19,744 crore funding package, which includes Production-Linked Incentives (PLI) for manufacturing electrolyzers and producing green hydrogen/ammonia. 
Cost Reduction: -
Targeting a production cost reduction to approximately $2 /kg by 2030. 
Phased Strategy: -
The roadmap features Phase I (2022-2026), which focuses on building early demand in refineries and fertilizer sectors, domestic electrolyzer manufacturing, and pilot mobility projects. 
Phase II (2026-2030) focuses on scaling up commercial applications across sectors like steel, shipping, and aviation. 
The roadmap is rolled out via several

specific initiatives and regional policies: 
 The SIGHT Programme
The Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) programme is a major financial component, allocating ₹17,490 crore towards direct incentives for green hydrogen and green ammonia producers. It also provides incentives for domestic electrolyzer manufacturing to localize supply chains. 
Sectoral Integration:-
While the initial focus utilizes green hydrogen in the chemical (fertilizer) and petroleum refining sectors, the roadmap includes pilots for hard-to-abate sectors: 
Mobility:-
Pl Pilot projects for hydrogen fuel cell and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, including buses and heavy-duty trucks.
Industry: -
Early-stage transitions in steel production and shipping
 State-Level Policies
Given your location in Gujarat, it is worth noting that your state, alongside Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, is a frontrunner in rolling out localized green hydrogen policies. These state policies provide attractive land allotments, infrastructural support, and specific tax benefits to attract major private investments. 
. Hydrogen Valley Innovation Clusters (HVIC):-
To bypass the high costs of midstream transport, the roadmap promotes HVICs. These clusters co-locate production facilities directly alongside major industrial demand centers (like large refineries and fertilizer plants).
