The Vizianagaram District Consumer Commission ordered the company to pay the homeowner Rs 25,265 (inclusive of interest, refunds, and compensation) for underperformance and excess fees. 
Key details of the case include:
The Promise:-
 The dealer assured the homeowner that their 3.24-kilowatt rooftop solar system would generate an average of 376.59 units per month. 
The Deficit: -
The system consistently failed to reach this target, forcing the homeowner to pay additional, unexpected electricity bills. 
The Breakdown of the Payout:-
Rs 10,729 refunded for excess net-metering charges. 
Rs 4,536 paid as compensation for the solar energy generation shortfall.
Rs 10,000 total for mental agony and litigation expenses.
An annual interest rate of 9% applied to the payout amounts until settled. 
The Ruling: -
The consumer commission cited the firm for deficiency of service and unfair trade practices, ordering compliance within 45 days.
