The Global Climate Baseline
Because of the greenhouse gases already trapped in the atmosphere, the world in 2050 is largely locked into a warmer, more volatile trajectory. 
Temperatures & Weather: -
Extreme heat waves will be eight to nine times more common. Global precipitation patterns will shift, causing severe, prolonged droughts in regions like the southwestern United States and Australia, while tropical areas face intense, frequent flooding. 
Sea Levels: -
Seas are predicted to rise an additional 25 to 30 cm globally, threatening coastal communities, wetlands, and global trade. 
Ecosystems: -
Coral reefs face mass die-offs, and critical carbon sinks like the Amazon rainforest risk crossing tipping points that could shift them toward a savannah-like state. 
Regional Impacts & Local Shifts
The physical realities of a 2°C warming will manifest differently depending on location.
India & South Asia: -
With a booming population approaching roughly 1 billion, regions like the Indo-Gangetic plain and parts of southern India will face intense heat stress and shifting monsoons, which will disrupt staple crop yields. In the Western Ghats, localized climate shifts could cause moisture-rich evergreen forests to shrink by hundreds of square kilometers, replaced by drier, thorn-forest ecosystems. 
Europe & North America: -
Major cities in the Northern Hemisphere will inherit climates typical of areas hundreds of miles south just decades prior. London summers may resemble the historical, dry heat of Barcelona, and western North America will see wildfire seasons increase by two to six times in land area consumed.
Public Health & Socioeconomic Risks
Rising temperatures will strain health infrastructure and exacerbate inequality, particularly in developing regions with weaker medical networks. 
Disease & Mortality: -
The World Health Organization projects that between 2030 and 2050, climate change will cause approximately 250,000 additional deaths annually globally, primarily due to malnutrition, malaria, diarrhea, and heat stress. 
Urbanization: -
As many rural areas face erratic weather that destroys agriculture and livelihoods, mass urbanization will accelerate, with upward of 70% of the world's population projected to live in cities. 
Economic Costs:-
 Unchecked climate change is estimated to shave approximately 4% off the global gross domestic product (GDP) annually by 2050, with poor and equator-adjacent populations suffering the steepest losses in productivity and earning potential.
