Key Details of the Rule
The Distance Standard: -
Turbines must maintain a buffer zone equal to two times the maximum height of the blade tip. 
Example Calculation: -
A 200-meter-tall wind turbine must sit at least 400 meters away from the nearest house. 
Sector Reaction: -
Trade associations like Ned Zero argue that a rigid, fixed standard is counterproductive because every local site has unique conditions. 
Project Impact: -
Sector analysts note that the increased spacing will require more total land area and could mean more overall turbines are needed to hit the same energy generation goals.
