A certain company has been on the hunt for a new source of energy that is better than hydrogen as a clean energy solution. Hydrogen has been at the forefront as an alternative fuel to fossil fuels due to its low-emission characteristics and high energy density. Hydrogen may hold promise as a clean energy source, but it faces many challenges concerning production, storage, and infrastructure, which can be expensive and complex. Luckily, a new source of energy was found, and it is better than hydrogen.
This drilling campaign marks a major milestone for HyTerra as we leverage oursignificant lease position through a comprehensive staged exploration program targetingboth hydrogen and heliumgases.
. White hydrogen’s potential as a low-carbon fuel has prompted millions in new investments due to its lower production costs and created a world rich with opportunities for pioneers.
The new source of energy that is better than hydrogen
HyTerra’s primary targets of its drilling program are to acquire essential subsurface data for white hydrogen and helium, which includes mud gas samples, wireline logs, and an in-depth understanding of the mine attributes. Murfin Drilling Company, which is based in Kansas, was chosen for the well operations SLB for geological data collection and analysis. The wells’ results will be utilized to organize the next drilling locations.
The drilling program was set out to be carried out in a three-step process for each well. Each step informed the completion (or not) of the next step:
Exploration drilling: A conventional oil and gas rig, altered for hydrogen work, was used to drill and sample the wells.
Data gathering: Following drilling, data gathering and subsurface analysis will be done to enhance the geological model and support the next exploration outlay. This may have included post-well monitoring.
Extended production testing: Based on drilling and data analysis results, a decision was to be reached on an extended production testing program on selected wells to assess the potential for undergoing hydrogen production.
