    Europe is indeed becoming a "solar powerhouse," with solar energy playing an increasingly significant role in its energy mix. 
   In June 2025, solar power became the EU's top electricity source for the first time, surpassing both nuclear and fossil fuels. 
   This shift is driven by a combination of factors, including increased solar capacity, abundant sunshine, and government policies supporting renewable energy.

    Solar power accounted for 22.1% of the EU's electricity in June 2025, while coal dropped to a record low of 6.1%. 

Record-breaking installations:-
   Many EU member states, like the Netherlands and Greece, set new monthly solar generation records, with wind power also reaching new highs. 

Rooftop solar growth:-
   The rooftop solar market is expanding rapidly, with millions of systems installed across Europe. 

Government support:-
   EU and national governments are implementing policies to encourage solar adoption, including simplifying grid registration and potentially legalizing plug-in solar.

   Solar power is not only environmentally beneficial but also offers cost savings for households and businesses, with decreasing payback times for solar investments.
