Hydrogen, particularly green hydrogen, is widely considered a leading candidate for the fuel of the future. Green hydrogen is gaining Traction basic need for environmental control.
It offers a potential solution to decarbonize various sectors and reduce reliance on fossil fuels, although significant hurdles remain in its production, storage, and distribution.

Here's why hydrogen is gaining traction:-
Clean energy source:-
Hydrogen produces only water vapor when used in fuel cells, making it a zero-emission fuel.
Versatility:-
Hydrogen can be used in various applications, including powering vehicles, heating homes and industries, and even in aviation and space exploration.
Abundance:-
While not readily available in pure form on Earth, hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe.
Potential to replace fossil fuels:-
Hydrogen can potentially replace fossil fuels in energy-intensive industries and transportation.
Green Hydrogen
Hydrogen, particularly green hydrogen, is widely considered a leading candidate for the fuel of the future. Green hydrogen is gaining Traction basic need for environmental control. electrolysis, using electricity generated from renewable sources like solar and wind to split water into hydrogen and oxygen.
Reduces carbon emissions:-
Green hydrogen offers a pathway to a fully sustainable energy system by minimizing or eliminating carbon emissions.
Challenges-
Production costs:-
Currently, green hydrogen production is expensive, though costs are expected to decrease with technological advancements and increased production scale.
Infrastructure development:-
Building the necessary infrastructure for hydrogen production, storage, and distribution is a significant undertaking.
Storage and transportation:-
Hydrogen needs to be stored under high pressure or at very low temperatures, requiring specialized and costly equipment.
Safety:-
Hydrogen is highly flammable and requires careful handling.
Others considerations -
Natural hydrogen:-
Natural hydrogen, a naturally occurring form of hydrogen, is also being explored as a potential resource.
India's Green Hydrogen Mission:-
India has launched a mission to become a global hub for green hydrogen production by 2030.
