Impact of environmental disasters in climate change and environment control.
Changing Monsoon: -
Rainfall Drops by 50 Percent, Crisis Deepens in Himalayan Forests.
Severe Ecological Shifts currently impacting the mountain ecosystems.
Key findings of the research include:-
Rainfall Deficit: -
Internal Himalayan regions, including parts of Himachal Pradesh, are experiencing up to a 50% reduction in annual monsoon rains.
Forest Ecosystem Shifts: -
With less rain and rising temperatures, coniferous forests are undergoing structural and biodiversity changes, becoming highly combustible and prone to severe fires.
Water Scarcity: -
Beyond the forests, shrinking glaciers and drying mountain springs threaten the livelihoods of millions, forcing regional agricultural and lifestyle adaptations (like shifting from apples to kiwi).
